Thailand Elephant Retreat 2019

 a two week immersion: January 13th- 27th, 2019

Join us for this two part adventure:

          The first week is in connection with The Elephant Nature Park where we will travel high up into the mountains and volunteer with the elephants rescued and protected by ENP. We will walk with the elephants and be educated on the complexities of this relationship between humans, elephants, and the land. We stay in simple living situation, served amazing vegan meals, we will practice yoga, and volunteer in the village. 

              The second week, we will travel to a small village outside of Chiang Mai to stay with  a beautiful family who founded Earth Home, a home stay that is also an educational center for sustainable living. We will practice yoga overlooking the highland landscape, we will be fed incredible vegetarian meals, receive thai massages, cooking classes. There is a small cafe on the property, a reservoir just up the road to swim in. 

We are offering this retreat as a whole package. You also have the option of joining us for one of the weeks. 

 

Cost of two week retreat is $3000 ~ Including:

  • All transport from when we meet in Chiang Mai on the 13th until we return to Chiang Mai on the 27th.

  •  14 days of Lodging and meals at the elephant project and Earth Home Retreat

  •  7 days in the jungle with the elephants

  • A Thai cooking class

  • A Thai Massage

  • A Thai language class

  • A trip to the local temple and traditional Thai sauna

  • yoga, chanting, writing, meditation daily

 

All contributions go directly to support Yoga and Animal Rights Alliance.

 

 

This will be an experience where the practice of self care is aligned with service to another species who, due to human ignorance, have found themselves needing sanctuary and love.

Located just south of Puerto Vallarta, it is a small village -- only accessible by water, so there are no cars.


~Waterfalls          ~Hiking trails          ~Quaint town       ~Beaches  ~Swimming          ~Snorkeling

~Lodging: beautiful open air palapas set in among bougainvillia, coconut, avocado, and palm trees in a small canyon that leads to waterfall.  ~Inspiring homemade family style vegetarian meals which with fresh juices daily. ~Practice yoga on an open air deck with flocks of birds flying overhead: Asana, meditation techniques, breathing exercises, Qi gong, and writing prompts to inspire our self inquiry.

 


Yelapa Animal Project

This year is special now that we are working in collaboration with

Yelapa Animal Project volunteering.

   

Since 2015 they have successfully treated hundreds of local animals and organized dozens of spay-neuter-vaccination clinics. Facilitated free, rabies vaccination event working in conjunction with the government. As well as tripling the number of animals treated from previous years.
